A Note by the Editorial Board

The NUJS Law Review was founded in 2008 as a brainchild of Professor Mahendra P. Singh, its first Editor-in-Chief and then Vice Chancellor of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata.

Since its inception, the Journal has been run by a Board of Editors comprising students of NUJS, under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University. This student-run model has distinguished the NUJS Law Review as one of the few flagship law journals in India governed entirely by students, with the Editor-in-Chief providing institutional guidance and scholarly direction.

The Journal is published quarterly on a rolling submissions basis and operates on an open access model, making all articles freely available from the date of publication. It also maintains a proprietary citation standard, the NUJS Law Review Citation and Style Standard, which has been widely adopted in Indian legal academia.

Each successive Board of Editors has carried forward this tradition of academic rigour, mentoring Associate Members through a structured process of legal writing and editorial supervision, and ensuring the highest standards of scholarship in every issue.
